CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will have two top-three matchups this weekend to finish the first half of the conference schedule, taking on Nicholls Saturday at 3:30 p.m. before facing undefeated McNeese Monday at 7 p.m. both at the American Bank Center.
The Islanders (13-7, 6-2 SLC) sit in second in the SLC standings entering the weekend right ahead of the Colonels (11-8, 5-3 SLC) but right behind the Cowboys (14-5, 8-0 SLC).
Not only with the top of the standings on the line, but the Islanders will also be looking for revenge on both teams. Last year, A&M-Corpus Christi and Nicholls split the season series with each winning on their home court, however, the Colonels won 81-73 in overtime of the SLC Tournament. The 2023-24 season also saw the Islanders drop to the Cowboys for the first time since 2012-13 as McNeese won both meetings by just a combined +8 margin between the two contests.
Monday night's game will also have free t-shirts handed out at the door, while supplies last.
The games will be streamed live on ESPN+ with
Steven King on the call for both and Ruby Kayser joining as a color analyst for Monday's contest.
