CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Soccer will play an 18-game regular season schedule and host the Southland Conference Tournament at the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer and Track & Field Stadium the Conference announced Monday.
The Islanders will host six regular season games prior to conference play, including the season opener on Aug. 15th against first time opponent, University of North Dakota. A&M-Corpus Christi will also welcome in non-conference play, Tarleton State Aug. 18th, Sam Houston Aug. 25th, Abilene Christian Aug. 29th, Prairie View A&M Sept. 8th, and Texas Southern Sept. 18th.
The Islanders will travel for non-conference regular season matchups against first time opponent UTEP Sept. 5th and Texas Southern Sept. 12th.
A&M-Corpus Christi will play 10 conference games, five of them at home starting with hosting Houston Christian on Sept. 22nd, McNeese State Sept 27th, Northwestern State Oct 18th, Incarnate Word Oct. 20th, and finishing up the season with UTRGV on Nov. 1st in the annual South Texas Showdown, before hosting the tournament on Nov. 5-10.
First year coach Daniel Clitnovici, takes over an Islanders squad that went 7-8-4 last season including 4-5-1 in the Southland Conference. He had this to say about the upcoming 2024 schedule.
