COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team drew No. 13 Texas A&M for the first round of the NCAA Tournament and will take on the Aggies Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
The Islanders (23-2) will be making their fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, becoming the first women's tennis team in the history of the Southland Conference to do so after four-peating the conference tournament title.
It will be the seventh overall NCAA Tournament appearance for the women and 17
th for Islanders Tennis under head coach
Steve Moore.
After winning this year's regular season and conference titles, A&M-Corpus Christi has now racked up 13 conference championships on the women's side. They are the winningest women's tennis program in the conference with six regular season and seven tournament crowns. Under Moore, Islanders Tennis has attained 35 championships between the men and women.
The women will carry at 13-match winning streak into the NCAA Tournament, not having lost in nearly two months.
