CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team came out of their home tournament unscathed after topping SFA 4-1 in the morning before closing out the Islander Classic against Texas in a 3-2 decision Saturday at Water's Edge Park.
The #20 Islanders (23-4) finished off their home tournament with the perfect 4-0 record to extend upon their fourth-straight 20+ win season. It is the most wins the program has ever seen in the regular season, topping their last year's record of 21.
It comes after the Islanders recognized their seniors following the conclusion of the match against Texas. They honored upcoming graduates
Tori Johnson,
Chloe Tome, and
Stephanie Young.
The pairings from yesterday's spotless matches extended into today's, with courts two, three, and five finishing the weekend unbeaten to help the nationally ranked Islanders secure the 4-0 tournament.
Cassie Dodd/Tome finished early in both, easily securing a 21-11 set in match one before SFA forced the third which they took emphatically 15-5. They then beat the Longhorns in a straight-set 21-12, 21-16 decision both on court two.
Hannah Doyle/Young at the third flight took a pair of straight-set victories, taking a 21-15, 21-19 dual against SFA before taking down Texas in a cleaner 21-10, 21-11 victory.

Kela Moreno at the No. 5 spot was given a forfeit win against SFA but finished a strong day against the Longhorns in a 21-15, 21-10 win.
The Islanders will play in their final regular season tournament next weekend at No. 5 Florida State. They will enter that tournament on a 12-match winning streak.
