CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team has a busy home weekend as it nears the end of the regular season, hosting Southeastern Saturday and New Orleans Monday at the American Bank Center.
Saturday's game against the Lions is set for 3:30 p.m. but will feature a special Senior Day recognition pregame. It will also be the annual Homecoming game where A&M-Corpus Christi will also celebrate 25 years of athletics. Monday night's game against the Privateers is set for a 7 p.m. tip.
The Islanders (18-10, 11-4 SLC) are coming off dominate road wins at Lamar and HCU that saw the team shoot above 50.0 from both the floor and from three-point range. It included a 55.2 percent clip against HCU which helped them reach over 90 points for the first time in conference play this season.
Junior
Jordan Roberts is coming off his own three-game hot streak, as the reigning SLC Player of the Week earned his title after scoring a career-high 22 points against Northwestern State before topping that two games later in A&M-Corpus Christi's recent road win at HCU. His 25 points was aided by an 8-of-12 night including two from long-range. He and junior
Garry Clark combined to go 18-of-26 from the floor.
Clark has either recorded 10+ points or 10+ rebounds in 13 SLC game this season, recording a double-double in four of them. He leads the team in both with 12.6 ppg and 8.1 rpg. The Islanders score 75.7 points per game and have 10 student-athletes scoring over 5.0 per outing.
His 8.1 rpg ranks fourth in the SLC, though, he ranks third in the league in off. rebounds with 3.1 per game. Clark also ranks second in FG% at a .546 clip on the year. Redshirt sophomore
Stephen Giwa ranks fifth in off. rebounding with 2.4 per outing.
Graduate
Marion Humphrey leads the SLC in assist/turnover ratio (3.1) to rank 21st in the NCAA and ranks fourth in assists (3.7 apg). Senior
Lance-Amir Paul ranks fifth in FT% at .786.
A rebound-heavy team, A&M-Corpus Christi tops the conference in rebounds, off. rebounding, def. rebounding (27.0 drpg), and rebounding margin (+7.4). They also lead the league in 3FG% defense (.299).

NOTES
- A&M-Corpus Christi leads Southeastern 15-10 in the all-time series and is 8-5 at home against the Lions. The Islanders will be going for their first season sweep over the Lions since 2006-07, the first year A&M-Corpus Christi joined the league. From the up until the 2019-20 season, the teams only met once a year.
- The Islanders topped Southeastern 73-68 on the road earlier this year after making 11 three-pointers that night. Roberts made five of them himself, a career-high for the junior and the season-high for the Islanders.
- A&M-Corpus Christi trails New Orleans 10-14 in the all-time record but holds a 6-5 edge when playing the Privateers at home. The Islanders will look to bounce back from a tough 83-80 loss at UNO's place earlier this year.
- The Islanders have shot over 33.3 percent from the three in nine SLC games this season, winning every conference game when they make more threes than their opponent.
- The Islanders are 31-2 over the last two seasons when holding the opposition to 70 points or less. They have held 11 Southland opponents to less than 70 points this year. On the offensive end, A&M-Corpus Christi is 25-0 over the last three seasons when shooting over .500 FG%.
