CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program will begin its campaign to a regular season title in early December, with a pair of conference matches slated for this weekend at the Dugan Wellness Center.
The Islanders (5-3) will get started Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Lamar (2-5) in the official conference opener, before rounding out the first weekend of the SLC slate Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against SFA (5-3).
It will begin A&M-Corpus Christi's quest back to the top, with the early start beginning the 20-game conference schedule this year due to the additions of UTRGV and SFA to the league. The Islanders were picked 4
th in the SLC Preseason Poll while SFA came ahead of them in second. Lamar was predicted to finish right behind A&M-Corpus Christi in fifth.
The pair of games will close out a six-game homestand for the Islanders, who have gone so far undefeated on their home court at 5-0. Their last home contest saw a record-breaking 70.0 percent shooting from the field in a 109-74 win over Prairie View.
Both games will be available to watch live on ESPN+ with Steven King on the call.
