HOUSTON, Texas – Taking on another nationally ranked opponent, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will take on #15 Houston Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Fertitta Center.
The Islanders (7-5) are coming off a confidence booster, posting a lopsided 117-63 win Wednesday over Southwestern Adventist that broke the program record for most points scored in a game. It came from a 66.2 percent shooting on the day, as they are one of just 18 teams in the country to have turned in at least seven games shooting above 50.0 percent this year. They are ranked third overall in the NCAA in total field goal percentage on the season (.519).
The Islanders will be going for their second ever win over the Cougars and first since the 2010-11 season when they won 81-78 in overtime at home. A&M-Corpus Christi will also be going for their first-ever win over an AP Top-25 opponent (0-18).
The matchup will be available to watch live on CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn (pxp) and Avery Johnson (analyst) calling the game. It will also be available to listen to live for free on 1440 AM K-E-Y-S with Steven King on call.
