HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will trade its island for another this weekend, as they head to Honolulu to face off with Hawai'i Saturday at 7 p.m. HST (11 p.m. CT).
The Islanders (6-4) are looking to take momentum over the Pacific Ocean, coming off a 67-48 victory last Saturday against SFA for their first conference win of the year. A&M-Corpus Christi is 22-0 over the last four seasons when holding their opponent to under 60 points. It is the third time they've done it this year, but second to hold their opposition to under 50. Offensively, they are one of just 22 teams in the nation that have turned in at least six games shooting above 50.0 percent this season.
The Islanders and Rainbow Warriors (5-3) have only met once previous, with Hawai'i winning that contest 100-81 in the 2002-03 season also in the Aloha State. The Islanders will be going for their first road win of the season, while Hawai'i has garnered all five of their wins at home.
The game will be available to watch live on ESPN+ called by Scott Robbs (pxp) and Artie Wilson (analyst). It can also be heard live for free on 1440 AM K-E-Y-S with Steven King on the call.
