COMMERCE, Texas – With three games left in the first half of the conference slate, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will play two on the road at Texas A&M-Commerce Thursday and Northwestern State Saturday.

The Islanders (12-5, 5-1 SLC) are hitting the road after garnering recent wins over McNeese (83-63) and Nicholls (58-52) to get to 100 all-time wins at the American Bank Center. The win over the Colonels was fueled by a 10-0 scoring run with the help of the go-ahead three-pointer by senior Mireia Aguado to finish the rallied win.

Aguado shot 50 percent from the field (5-of-10) to end with 13 points. That was mirrored by graduate Alecia Westbrook and senior Paige Allen who also each contributed 13 points. With a final rebound at the game buzzer, Allen came away with her second-ever double-double.

Allen has grabbed at least six rebounds in every SLC game this year, while Westbrook has recorded either 10+ points or 10+ rebounds in every league game.

Junior Nabaweeyah McGill continues to lead the league in blocks, averaging 1.6 per game. She also ranks fifth in off. rebounding with 2.1 per game. West[1]brook seconds the conference in rebounding (7.9 rpg), def. rebounding (5.6 drpg), and steals (2.1 spg), while also ranking third in off. rebounding (2.4 orpg).

Westbrook is one of three Islanders in the top-five for steals, as Aguado ranks fourth (1.9 spg) and junior Tymberlin Criswell ranks fifth (1.8 spg). Aguado also finds herself in the top-five for FG% at a .491 clip.

The Islanders lead the Southland Conference in scoring margin (+10.5), FG% defense (.342), 3FG% defense (.243), rebounding (41.5 rpg), assists (14.41 apg), and steals (11.35 spg).

Thursday's game will tip at 6:30 p.m. CT while Saturday is set for 1p.m. Both games can be watched live on ESPN+ or head live for free on 1440 AM K-E-Y-S with Doug Kesterson on the call.
