CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Both the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis programs will play multiple matches this week, beginning with an 11 a.m. home match Tuesday against UIW at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

The week continues Wednesday when the women look to clinch the Southland Conference regular season title at 11 a.m. at McNeese. Both the men and women will conclude SLC play Friday at Lamar, and the regular season ends Sunday in a home doubleheader against Howard Payne starting at 11 a.m.

The men are 13-7 overall and coming off a 4-3 road win at Nicholls. The Islanders are 63-30 as a team in singles, led by junior
Avery Zavala who plays No. 1 and hoists an 11-5 record and 2-1 in conference.

The men are 67-11 SLC under head coach
Steve Moore and 9-1 against UIW.

The women, who are 18-2 overall and 5-0 in conference, clinch the regular season championship by winning one of their last two against McNeese or Lamar. The Islanders enter play on a seven-match winning-streak and are 11-2 on the road.

The women are 108-37 against conference opponents under Moore since 2009 and 14-4 against McNeese.

The women are playing for their 10th SLC championship since 2014 and third in the last three seasons. It would be their fifth regular season crown. It would also be the 31st championship overall for A&M-Corpus Christi tennis and sixth in the last three seasons.

Sunday will be Senior Day for the men and an extra Senior Day for
Victoire Delattre from the women who was honored previously prior to the win over Northwestern State. The men will distinguish
Ulysse Bertrand,
Pascal Lorieul,
Matthieu Peres and
Nathan Schwartz.
