WACO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track and field saw numerous individuals finish with top-five performances in the second day of the Clyde Hart Classic hosted by Baylor on Saturday.
"It was a really nice day for the Islanders," said head coach Brent Ericksen. "Across the board we were able to put up some good early season performances."

Ke'Tavion Humber, a graduate student with the Islanders, earned the top finish of the day for the team, coming in third in the men's 110m hurdles at a time of 14.16s. Senior
Daniel Armstrong came in behind him in fifth at 14.44s, a day removed from claiming the title in the 400m hurdles.

Enoch Antwi, a junior newcomer, placed fifth in the men's triple jump, having leaped 14.16m on the day. The mark moves him up to sixth all-time in program history. Freshman
Myla Tate earned a top-five finish as well in the same position, jumping 11.28m on the women's side of the event.

Jamal Dawson and senior
Spencer Bigner both set marks of 1.95m in the men's high jump with the former tying for fifth and the latter placing ninth. Dawson tied his personal record which has him tied for ninth in the Islanders' record books.

Two Islanders earned top-10 finishes in the women's 800m dash as graduate student
Faith Bett led the way with a mark of 2:12.04 for fifth as senior
Riley Cowan placed eighth at 2:15.66 in the race. Bett's time broke her prior personal best and moves her from second to third in the record books, improving by 0.34s. Cowan makes her way up the list as well for seventh all-time.
Ericksen continued, saying, "The women's mid-distance group is starting to turn it on as well. Faith ran a 2:!2.04 for second all-time and Riley ran 2:15.66 for a couple of nice personal records."

Sophomore
Tranasia Jones kicked on the jets in the women's 400m dash, crossing the line in 56.05s to place eighth.
Sean Majors, a graduate student, ran a time of 48.93s on the men's side.
The men's 4x400m relay combined for a time of 3:14.77 to finish fifth on the day. The team was comprised of freshman
Rene Renteria, Armstrong, Majors and Humber.
The Islanders return to action Wednesday at the Texas Relays, a four-day event, to be held in Austin, Texas.
