CORPUS CHRISTI, Tennis – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis program was distinguished with Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks as senior
Pascal Lorieul took the nods this week, announced by the league office.

It came after fellow senior
Nathan Schwartz won the first week of the season. Additionally, junior Emma Aucagne from the women's team won last week.

Lorieul went unbeaten in singles in matches against Southern Miss and UL-Lafayette last week. Against the Golden Eagles, he topped Shamirul Shahril 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Lorieul then moved up to No. 1 singles against the Cajuns and defeated Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez by the identical 6-2, 6-1 score.

Yesterday, Lorieul stayed unbeaten in singles with two more wins against Prairie View A&M in straight sets. The Cormeilles-en-Parisis, France native is now 5-0 on the year, primarily playing No. 1 and 2 singles.

Lorieul and the Islanders will be in action again on Feb. 17-18 when they compete in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
