BATON ROUGE, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball program was held to a quiet night against a nationally ranked LSU team, falling 11-0 on day one of the LSU/ULL Crossover at Tiger Park.
The Islanders (7-3) couldn't cool off the undefeated #14 Tigers (13-0) who scored a run in each inning for the 11-0 decision. A&M-Corpus Christi would get six runners on base, though, they couldn't find home plate as LSU left them all stranded.
Junior
Primrose Aholelei made her sixth start of the season in the circle for the Islanders and faced 14 batters. She recorded one strikeout and only gave up three earned runs but was credited with the loss. Though, she maintains a winning record (4-3) and holds a 2.38 ERA.

Juliana J. Garcia and sophomore
Paolina Baez each notched a hit as well.
The Tigers went 4-for-4 at the plate to score two runs in the bottom of the first before Aholelei got the next batter swinging for the first out. She retired the next two batters who both flied out to left field, but LSU led it 3-0 through one.
Rogron earned the lead-off single to start the second and freshman
Paolina Baez reached base with the sacrifice bunt for two runners on, no outs. Though, the Islanders couldn't drive them in, and LSU took advantage in the next frame with four more runs, all unearned, to lead it 7-0.
Campion's single came in the third but with two outs already, she was left on base. LSU then nailed its second homer of the game in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-0 through three.
Baez drew the lead-off walk in the fourth and De Avila's infield single put two runners on. The wild pitch by LSU advanced the runners into scoring position, but LSU escaped the threat to keep the Islanders scoreless through four.
Freshman
