CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – For the second time this season, senior
Terrion Murdix from the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program was named the Southland Conference Player of the Week winner.
Murdix stuffed the stat sheet with 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in road wins at Nicholls and McNeese. He shot .591 (13-22) from the field and .917 (11-12) from the free throw line to help A&M-Corpus Christi move into sole possession of first-place in the SLC standings.
The Springfield, Illinois native started it off with a career-high 25 points against Nicholls. He helped the Islanders snap the Colonels 13-game home winning-streak and give them their first home loss of the season.
Murdix followed it up with 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals against the Cowboys. He aided A&M-Corpus Christi to its 15th consecutive victory over the Cowboys dating back to 2013.
A&M-Corpus Christi has won three SLC Player of the Week awards as a team. Murdix previously won on Jan. 30, and senior
Isaac Mushila earned the honors on Nov. 14.
The Islanders will look to extend their eight-game winning-streak Thursday when they host Texas A&M-Commerce at 7:30 p.m. at the American Bank Center.
