NEW ORLEANS – Looking to carry momentum on the road, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program will head to New Orleans for a 7 p.m. game Thursday at Lakefront Arena, and Southeastern for an 11 a.m. tip at the University Center.

Saturday's game between A&M-Corpus Christi (14-8, 6-3 SLC) and SLU (13-9, 7-2 SLC) will be nationally televised on ESPNews. It's a rematch of the SLC Championship last year, which the Islanders won 73-65 to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Islanders are going for the season sweep over New Orleans (6-14, 3-6 SLC). In the first meeting, A&M-Corpus Christi broke the school record for threes in a game with 16 and shot .667 (16-24) in the 97-79 win. The previous school record for threes made in a game was 14. Senior

Terrion Murdix is the reigning Southland Conference Player of the Week winner. He averaged 16.0 points, 12.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in victories over Nicholls and McNeese. It included a historic performance against the Colonels where he dished out a school record 15 assists go along with 17 points for a double-double.

A&M-Corpus Christi has four student-athletes averaging in double-figures. Senior
Isaac Mushila nearly averages a double-double with 15.0 points and league-leading 9.7 rebounds per game. senior
Trevian Tennyson scores 14.5 points per game and a team-high 18.8 in conference.

Murdix averages 13.0 points per outing and leads the conference in both assists (5.6 apg) and steals (2.3 spg). Graduate
Ross Williams scores 10.1 points per game and is second in the SLC in 3FG% (.423).

The Islanders have been hot from long range in conference play where they are .427 (82-192) as a team. Most notably, Tennyson is 38-of-70 (.543) and graduate
Ross Williams is 23-of-57 (.404). Over the last eight games, Tennyson is 37-of-65 (.569) from three-point range. He was 11-of-18 last weekend against Nicholls and McNeese.

In the win over Nicholls, the Islanders erased a seven-point halftime deficit after shooting .652 from the field in the second half. Murdix broke the school's single-game assists record with 15 to go along with 17 points for a double-double. It was the second straight win over the Colonels after knocking them off 71-64 in the semifinals of the 2022 Southland Conference Tournament en route to winning the championship.

SLU and UNO played each other in back-to-back games last week with the Lions winning both 92-87 at home and 80-64 on the road. SLU went 7-1 in January. UNO's Jordan Johnson leads the nation in three-point percentage with a .492 mark; he scored a team-high 17 points and was 2-of-3 from distance against the Islanders in the first meeting.

- A&M-Corpus Christi has only given up a scoring run of 10 or more consecutive points one time this season, making them one of five teams in the nation to do so along with Tennessee, Arizona, Auburn and New Mexico.
