A&M-Corpus Christi Announces 2024 Tennis Schedules

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Having made five NCAA Tournament appearances in the last three years, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis programs will look to continue making history in 2024 as they released their spring schedules.
 
Both the men and women are the reigning Southland Conference Tournament champions, while the women are also the defending SLC regular season champions. A&M-Corpus Christi will look to become the first women's program to ever win four consecutive SLC Tournament titles and has already made six NCAA Tournaments in the past 10 seasons.
 
The 2024 seasons get underway Wednesday, Jan. 17 when the Islanders head to Prairie View A&M. The home opener is the following Wednesday, Jan. 24 in rematches against PVAMU.
 
The men will get plenty of non-conference tests as it will face Texas A&M, UTRGV twice, Morgan State, Kennesaw State, Cleveland State and Alcorn State. A&M-Corpus Christi will also head to UL-Lafayette for a tournament on Feb. 2-3.
 
The Islanders will host the annual H-E-B Tournament of Champions on Feb. 16-17 and will welcome Abilene Christian, Alcorn, DePaul, UL-Lafayette, New Mexico State and UT Arlington.
 
The women will also be challenged with dates against SMU, UTRGV twice, New Mexico State, Morgan State, UTEP, Abilene Christian and Alcorn State. Conference play begins Saturday, March 2 when the Islanders travel to Southeastern.
 
"We are incredibly excited for the 2024 season! Our teams have worked incredibly hard to earn the right to be confident and are so excited about this journey together as the Islanders Tennis Family. Our schedule is put together with the goal of getting both teams ranked top 75 nationally in NCAA DI. These high character Islanders have accomplished this many times through hard work and team unity so that will always be our focus. And there will be adversity, injuries, highs and lows but we must always be fully committed to the two pillars of unbreakable team unity and always choosing the character road," said head coach Steve Moore.
 
The 2024 Southland Conference Championships are slated for April 18-21 in San Antonio, hosted by UIW.
