KINGSVILLE, Texas – Off to a 4-0 start to begin the season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis program will conclude its season-opening five-match road swing Monday when it travels to Texas A&M-Kingsville for a 1 p.m. match.
The Islanders are coming off wins over New Mexico State 4-3 and UTEP 6-1 in back-to-back days Tuesday and Wednesday. A&M-Corpus Christi is looking to start 5-0 for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
A&M-Corpus Christi is 17-3 in singles as a team. Junior
Emma Aucagne, the 2022 Southland Conference Player of the Year, is 3-0 at No. 1 singles. The Islanders have also shown their depth as they are a combined 9-0 at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles.
Monday will be the season opener for the Javelinas. They finished 11-11 overall and 5-4 in the Lone Star Conference last year.

Women's tennis is 5-0 all-time against Texas A&M-Kingsville with a combined score of 34-1. Last year, the Islanders won 7-0 at home after winning all three doubles courts and all six singles matches in straight sets.
A&M-Corpus Christi's home opener is Wednesday, Feb. 1 when it hosts UTSA at 2 p.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
