Baseball Releases 2023 Schedule

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Coming off a 27-win season, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's baseball team released its 2023 season schedule Friday morning.

"I think the schedule is tough and I think that's what makes it fun," said head coach Scott Malone. "We want our program to be better and improve and show the biggest light you can, so you have to play the biggest teams."

The Islanders begin the season by taking on UT-Arlington for the second consecutive season, marking the first time A&M-Corpus Christi kicks off the season at home since 2021. Following UT-Arlington is the University of Texas coming off a College World Series appearance in 2022.

A&M-Corpus Christi is scheduled to host the annual Kleberg Bank College Classic for the 13th straight year, featuring the University of Houston, the University of Utah, and UIW. All three games will be played at Whataburger Field. Utah will stay an extra day to play at Chapman Field on Monday.

Each of the Southland schools take on each other throughout the season with each matchup being a weekend three-game series. Once conference play is complete, the top seven teams are chosen for the SLC Championship to be hosted by McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Nearly all of the home games for A&M-Corpus Christi can be seen on ESPN+ with 24 games making an appearance on the program's lineup. All three games at the Kleberg Bank College Classic can be streamed on FloBaseball.

The Islanders face the UTRGV Vaqueros thrice during the 2023 campaign, twice on the road and once at home in the South Texas Showdown. It will be a part of a competition between the two schools hosted by NavyArmy Community Credit Union where each sports program faces off against each other for the right to hoist the trophy at the end of the year.

Harvard plans to travel to Corpus Christi for the second meeting between the teams for a four-game series. The second four-game series includes the first meeting between Lindenwood and A&M-Corpus Christi.
