"I'm incredibly proud of how hard these high character players competed this weekend! The older players were great leaders, and the new players have huge hearts. They are growing and developing every day with great attitudes and commitment to be a true team. They did a really good job this weekend of playing each present point with intensity. One of our core values is gratitude and Islanders Tennis is incredibly grateful to Bobby Nichols as the title sponsor for this tournament. We are also grateful for all the staff especially our trainer,
Amber Betsill, and associate head coaches who worked four straight 15 hour days! I'm very proud of Islander tennis this weekend," said head coach
Steve Moore.
Prior to Sunday's matches, the teams unified together on the court for a moment of silence to remember the nearly 3,000 victims of 9/11.
