CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – With 14 regular season home games on tap, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball program released its 2022-23 schedule Thursday.
The regular season begins Nov. 7 with a trip to Texas Tech. Prior to that, the Islanders will host Huston-Tillotson in an exhibition on Oct. 31.
A&M-Corpus Christi will also travel to Texas A&M, UTRGV, Texas State and a trip to Puerto Rico to face Nebraska and Stony Brook. The Islanders will host non-conference games against UTRGV and Washington State.
"Our 2022-23 schedule is both challenging and exciting. We will have to be ready to compete with Texas Tech from the Big 12 to start our season followed by Texas A&M from the SEC on the road. We also will welcome some tough competition to our home court. Visiting will be Washington State and the South Texas Showdown versus UTRGV. We can't wait to see everyone in the stands supporting these young ladies," said head coach
Royce Chadwick.
The Southland Conference schedule will feature a double round robin format where all 10 teams play each other twice for an 18-game slate. The SLC opener is Saturday, Dec. 31 when A&M-Corpus Christi heads to Northwestern State.
The SLC Championship is March 6-9 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, hosted by McNeese State University.
