A&M-Corpus Christi Releases 2022 Soccer Schedule

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Featuring nine regular season home games and a 12-game conference schedule, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program unveiled its 2022 schedule.
 
The Islanders will host Texas State, Prairie View A&M, UTRGV, HBU, Nicholls, UIW, McNeese, Northwestern State and Lamar at Dugan Stadium. They'll also welcome Tarleton State on Friday, Aug. 12 in an exhibition match at 7 p.m.
 
The season opener is slated for Thursday, Aug. 18 when A&M-Corpus Christi travels to Texas Southern. The Islanders will then travel to UTRGV on Aug. 21 in the first of two South Texas Showdown matchups, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union.
 
The home opener is scheduled for Aug. 25 against Texas State.
 
"I feel we have set up some non-conference games to really test ourselves, like Texas State and defending SWAC champs Prairie View who both beat us last year, and always two heated games against UTRGV," said head coach Craig Shaw.
 
The conference opener is Sept. 11 at Lamar. The Islanders will play other SLC road games at UIW, Texas A&M-Commerce, Southeastern, Nicholls and HBU.
 
"Conference is going to be even tougher than normal with an uneven schedule. We have set goals very high for this fall and to do it we have to overcome some amazing opponents. We have been drawn to play twice UIW who made conference final last year, HBU who we are winless against in program history and Lamar who won the SLC two out of the last three years they were in it. So, this is going to be a tough yet very exciting season for us, but I truly believe we will triumph and finally prove to everyone how good we really are," Shaw said.
 
The SLC Tournament is set for Nov. 2-6 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, hosted by Northwestern State.
