CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – As the top team from the league in both the regular season and conference tournament, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball program landed five pairs on the Southland All-Conference Teams and head coach
Gayle Stammer earned Coach of the Year.

Stammer became the first Coach of the Year in program history. It came after she coached the Islanders to a perfect 11-0 record against SLC opponents and to the conference tournament title. She led A&M-Corpus Christi to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Junior
Giuliana Poletti Corrales and sophomore
Brooke Pertuit finished the regular season ranked No. 12 in the nation (the highest in the conference) in the final PABLO Ranking system. The duo went 24-8 together all on court one and 2-0 in the SLC Tournament. They were the SLC Pair of the Tournament and four-time SLC Pair of the Week winners. They have wins over No. 2 TCU, No. 4 Florida State, No. 6 LSU, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, Nicholls, SFA, Abilene Christian, Tampa, UL-Monroe, SLU, HBU and were 2-1 against UNO.

Sophomore
Tori Johnson and freshman
Jade Bennett played every match of the season together and were 17-15 overall and 15-15 on court two. Including the conference tournament, Bennett and Johnson were 9-2 against SLC opponents. They won SLC Pair of the Week on March 22. They have wins this year over No 17 Arizona State, UL-Monroe, UAB, Nicholls, Stephen F. Austin, Tampa, Arizona Christian, Southeastern, New Orleans and HBU.

Kiley Lewis and senior
Migle Mazurkeviciute were a perfect 3-0 in the SLC Tournament on court three. They were recognized as AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week on April 25. The duo was 11-9 overall on the season and 10-8 on court three. They have wins this year over Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Tampa, UL-Monroe, Arizona Christian, Southeastern, New Orleans and HBU.

Micaela Mirabal and senior
Aurora Carnes were 14-10 overall and 11-7 on court four. They won SLC Pair of the Week on March 1. The pair notched wins over UL-Monroe, Southeastern, New Orleans, HBU, UAB, Southern Miss, Tulane, Abilene Christian and Nicholls.

Shea Slusser and freshman
Kela Moreno teamed for a 9-5 record and saw action on both courts four and five. The duo went 2-0 in the SLC Tournament including straight-set wins over both UNO and HBU in the semifinals and finals, respectively. They also registered wins over No. 15 FIU, Abilene Christian, Tampa and UL-Monroe.

A&M-Corpus Christi was the only team in the league to garner five All-Conference pairs.

The Islanders earned the No. 15 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will square off with No. 2 TCU at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the first round in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
