Men’s Basketball Signs Ross Williams for 2022-23 Season

April 29, 2022

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Adding more talent and experience to its roster, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program added Ross Williams to the 2022-23 squad, announced by head coach Steve Lutz.

Williams will be a fifth-year guard from Detroit, Michigan. He played the last two seasons at Colorado Christian where he was named an All-Conference selection each year and averaged 19.8 points per game as a senior and 19.6 per game as a junior.

He scored a career-high 39 points against South Dakota Mines where he was 9-of-14 from beyond-the-arc. He netted at least 20 points 14 times and at least 30 points four times last season.

Williams also comes to A&M-Corpus Christi as a .427 three-point shooter, going 88-for-206 from long range as a senior. He also led the team in steals and helped on the glass with 4.5 rebounds per game.

"I'm really excited to add Ross to the Islander Family. He is a great young man from an exceptional family who has the ability to impact the game with his shooting and scoring. I believe the Islander nation will enjoy watching him play in our quest to win the Southland Conference and make it back to the NCAA Tournament," said Lutz.

Prior to Colorado Christian, Williams spent two years at Menlo College where he was an All-American. He played prep at Bishop O'Dowd HS and helped the team win two West Alameda County League championships.

Williams will be pursuing a graduate degree in business at A&M-Corpus Christi.
