The Colonels scored again the next half inning to take the game to 3-1. The game remained scoreless through the rest of the game to give Nicholls the 3-1 edge.

Senior Grace Gilbert, recent SLC Pitcher of the Week recipient, then pitched for 4.1 innings in relief to silence the Colonels the rest of the game, striking out four while she was at it. Gilbert has not allowed a run during her last four appearances.
