CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A pivotal weekend of Southland Conference matches is on tap for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's & women's tennis programs when they host New Orleans on Friday and Nicholls on Senior Day Sunday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

The men (12-8, 0-0 SLC) will play at 12 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The women (16-3, 2-1 SLC), who are ranked No. 81 in the nation in Tuesday's ITA Rankings out of 311 Division I programs, will take the court at 3 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Sunday.

The Islanders will honor four seniors between the two matches Sunday. It includes
Kyohei Yamanaka from the men's team and
Jordan Ortega-Mendez,
Mariya Shumeika and
Camille Townsend from the women.

All four have been a part of SLC Championship teams including last year where both the men and women advanced to the NCAA Tournament. A&M-Corpus Christi was one of only 39 Universities in American with both the men's and women's tennis programs at the NCAA Tournament.

A&M-Corpus Christi will put lengthy home winning-streaks on the line over the weekend. The men have not lost a conference home match since 2011-12. The women have won 21 consecutive home matches and haven't lost a conference home contest since 2014-15.

In the men's last home match, they defeated NJIT 6-1 on March 16. It counted as a non-conference match, but NJIT will competed in the SLC Championship as an affiliate member of the league.

The men have never lost to either New Orleans (12-5, 1-0 SLC) or Nicholls (7-7, 0-1 SLC). They are 10-0 all-time against UNO and 17-0 vs. Nicholls.

The women, who have won 9 of their last 10 matches overall, have also been dominant against the Privateers (8-7, 1-1 SLC) and the Colonels (10-6, 2-0 SLC). The Islanders are 7-2 against UNO and 13-2 against Nicholls.
