BATON ROUGE, La. – Coming off a pair of sweeps at home, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball program will hit the road for the LSU Beach Invitational beginning Saturday at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.

A&M-Corpus Christi (13-6) will take on HBU (8-10) at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 3 p.m. match against the University of Tampa (8-5). The schedule concludes Sunday with a 9 a.m. match versus No. 4 Florida State (12-3) and a 12 p.m. contest against UL-Monroe (5-10).

When A&M-Corpus Christi plays HBU, the Islanders will put their 16-match winning-streak on the line against SLC opponents in the regular season. Against FSU, A&M-Corpus Christi will be going for its first-ever win over a ranked opponent in program history.

The Islanders will look to carry momentum into the weekend after recording a pair of 5-0 sweeps over Abilene Christian in a home doubleheader Wednesday. A&M-Corpus Christi did not drop a set on any of the 10 courts and improved to 3-0 at home.

Jade Bennett are the reigning SLC Player of the Week winners. The duo has won seven of its last eight matches at the No. 2 position.

Brooke Pertuit carry a 14-5 record, and the 14 wins are the most on the squad. They are a two-time SLC Pair of the Week this year.

Aurora Carnes is second on the squad in wins and 13-6 overall. They are on a three-match winning-streak.

A&M-Corpus Christi is going for its second win over both HBU and UL-Monroe this season after beating them at the HBU Tournament on opening weekend.
