Tennis at Home Tuesday, Men Face UT Arlington, Women Host A&M-Kingsville in Rescheduled Match

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A full day at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center on Tuesday will begin with the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis program hosting UT Arlington at 11 a.m., followed by the women taking on Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2:30 p.m.
 
Women's tennis (6-1) has won 17 consecutive home matches over the course of the last three seasons, while the men (5-2) have won five in a row. The women are 3-0 at home this year and the men 2-0.
 
The women are coming off back-to-back 6-1 wins over UTSA and UTRGV. They are a combined 30-9 in singles and 13-5 in doubles overall.
 
Sophomore Leopoldine Boisseau is 6-1 at doubles from the No. 3 and 5 positions and is a perfect 5-0 in doubles with sophomore Kateryna Rublevska. Junior Camille Townsend sports a 5-1 singles record ranging from the No. 2-4 slots.
 
The Islanders are 4-0 all-time against the Javelinas including 7-0 sweeps the last two years.
 
The men will look to bounce back from a tough defeat to UL-Lafayette over the weekend. The Islanders are 26-11 in singles and 12-6 in doubles.
 
Junior Matthieu Peres stood out against the Ragin' Cajuns with a straight set 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles. It was his third singles win of the year, with the other two coming at No. 1 singles. In doubles, Peres is 4-1 with sophomore Ryuya Ata.
 
The men are 10-4 all-time against UT Arlington and 6-1 at home. The two used to be Southland Conference rivals before the Mavs left the league at the end of the 2012 season.
