CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball announced six players signed National Letters of Intent to join the roster in the 2023-24 academic year.
"I feel great about his class," said head coach
Scott Malone. "I feel it's a great mix of junior college guys that you expect will play right away and be an instant impact and with the high school guys, you begin to dream on them and what they will look like in a year or two years and I think this class can be really talented. They are really high-end academic kids from the right families that are not only talented players on the field, but great people off the field. I'm super excited about this group."
Kamar Dove is a native of New Caney, Texas where he attended New Caney High School and was a multi-sport athlete in basketball and baseball. The 6'3" senior has played 6A baseball under the tutelage of head coach Todd Foley where he earned All-District honors in both 2020 and 2021. When competing outside of high school, Dove played club ball with the Banditos under Brian Hall.
"Kamar has a ton of upside. He is a kid that we saw at camp and you always get excited when kids come on campus and saw him as very projectable and a hard thrower. He's a multiple sport athlete playing both basketball and baseball and has a ton of upside on the mound and we can't wait to see what he becomes over the next couple of years."

Â
Kendall Dove committed to A&M-Corpus Christi with his brother, also a multi-sport athlete, but in football and baseball. Dove played under Coach Foley as well, earning All-League and All-District honors in 2020, 21, and 22. One of his recognitions included being named First Team All-District Designated Hitter.
"Also a multiple sport athlete, a football player so you know he has some edge. He's got some get-after-it in him. I love recruiting guys that play other sports, but you also know he's never been focused on one sport so you ask yourself what this guy can become in the next year or two years when he starts to focus all his talent on one sport. I can't wait to see both Dove brothers and how they develop."

Â
Alberto "Tito" Santos IV comes from San Marcos, Texas where he attended San Marcos High School. While there, he's played under head coach Bryan Webb, earning All-District honors twice, one on First Team in 2021 and Second Team in 2022. In both years, Santos was named to the Academic All-District Team. He saw playing time with the South Texas Sliders in club ball, helping them to being Texas Premiere State Champions. In addition to his accolades, he was named Perfect Game WWBA 16U All-Tournament Team Pitcher in 2021.
Â
"He's a right-handed pitcher that came to camp and worked out for us on the Island. He's a plus-plus command guy who can throw multiple pitches in the strike zone at all counts. He really competes and was recommended by a coach from a winning team."

Â
Dylan Snead is a shortstop native to Frisco, Texas where he attended Frisco Wakeland, assisting his team to the 2022 state semi-finals. Under head coach Matt Sartor, he earned All-District honors in 2021 and 2022 along with winning the 2021 district tile with his team. He has been named Fort Worth star-telegram player of the week and Sports Day high school Player of the Week. Academically, Snead has succeeded, earning a spot on the National Honor Society with a 3.95 GPA.
Â
"Coming from a big-time high school program, Frisco Wakeland and I saw those guys compete for a state championship last year. He competes for the highest level and championships. He's the right player from the right program and an infielder that can move around and play different positions, but really athletic with a ton of upside."

Â
Drake Kerr is slated to come to the Island from Eastern Oklahoma Junior college where he played under Assistant Coach Matt Parker. He graduated from Vici Public Schools in 2021 before heading to play at the JUCO where he earned All-League, All-District and All-State honors.
Â
"An Eastern Oklahoma JC guy who is the second player with connections to Coach Parker and Coach Ruiz Jr. I'm super excited about him/ He's blue collar and a hard worker with a winning mentality. Not only is he a great player who will have a super impact on what we're doing, but I expect he'll become a great leader that will lead by example and guys will follow him."

Â
Aidan Lamar, a native of Prosper, Texas, attends Rock Hill High School where he plays as a pitcher for the baseball team under head coach Shaun Stanton. He earned All-District honors in 2022 with the Bluehawks. Lamar pitched for the Dallas Patriots in club ball where they were the 2022 17U National Select Champions. He personally was named a Preseason Underclass All-American for 2021/22 and ranked in the top 500 nationally.
Â
"He's a big left-handed pitcher out of Dallas Fort Worth. He's a hard thrower and his stuff is right. He may be a couple years away from being a rockstar in the Southland Conference. His stuff is really good and he throws left-handed so I believe his best days are ahead of him."

Â
Cade Sanchez is a second baseman from Houston, Texas where he attended Jersey Village before committing to Hill College. He earned All-District First Team honors in 2021 in his senior year of high school. Sanchez will transfer in from Hill College where he played under head coach Chris Rateike, earning First-Team All-Conference and All-Region honors while being an All-American nominee.
Â
"He's one of the first guys that Coach Parker came back from a road trip and said this is my guy and I really like his swing and instant offense he's going to bring at this level. He'll be trying to fill some shoes in a couple years and it will be a challenge, but he's the right guy and probably go into one of the top four or five spots in the batting order so we'll be counting on him right away."
