CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's baseball team will be hosting the 2022 Kleberg Bank College Classic on Feb. 25-26 at Whataburger Field with Wichita State, Iowa and Pepperdine in attendance.

The Kleberg Bank College Classic has been sponsored by Kleberg Bank since the 2011 season and has featured a variety of programs over the years of the historic tournament.

Pepperdine and Wichita State will be making their first appearance at the tournament. Iowa last made an appearance at the Kleberg Bank College Classic in 2013.

"The reputation of Whataburger field as a top 5 baseball facility in the minor leagues allows me the ability to contact coaches from the largest programs with the most winning tradition in the NCAA. Almost every major baseball program has made the trip to corpus Christi in the last 20 years. This years version of the Kleberg Bank Classic is no different. The University of Iowa, is a major brand name from the Big 10 conference. Wichita State and Pepperdine are two of the strongest mid majors in the country and each program has a long tradition of baseball success."
Last year at the Kleberg Bank College Classic, the Islanders hosted a three-game series against the University of Houston. In 2019, A&M-Corpus Christi upset eventual Big Ten Champion Ohio State in a thrilling 8-7 victory to end the tournament. The Islanders swept the tournament in 2018 by taking down Nicholls State, the University of California, Santa Barbara and No. 21 Mississippi State in a 3-0 run.
Tickets are priced at $12 for adults each day with discounted tickets at $10 for children, military members, staff and faculty. Students will get in free when they present their Sanddollar card. Passes for the entire weekend (six games) will be $27.
