CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –
In its first appearance at Dugan Stadium this season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer program will play a friendly against Texas A&M-International at 7 p.m. Thursday.

It will be A&M-Corpus Christi's final tune-up before the regular season opener Sunday when the Islanders host Texas Southern at 1 p.m.

"We are very excited for these next two games. We will use the home crowd advantage to settle our nerves to play our way confidently," said head coach Craig Shaw.

Both games will be live streamed for free on the Islanders Digital Network with Steven King on the call.

The Islanders are training 11 freshmen who are gaining experience in their first Division I games. In an exhibition last week, freshmen Morgan Westbury and Megan Guy tallied shots against Baylor.

A&M-Corpus Christi played TAMIU last year on the road in one of the chilliest games in recent memory. The Islanders walked away with a 4-0 shutout win, which included two goals by sophomore Olivia Alvarez and one by sophomore Maggie Murray.

The Dustdevils were 2-2-1 in the Lone Star Conference this past spring in a shortened COVID-19 season.
