Men’s & Women’s Tennis Headed to Baylor for NCAA Tournament

WACO, Texas –
The brackets were revealed for the 2021 NCAA Men's & Women's Tennis Championships, and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men and women will both be facing Baylor in the first round at the Hurd Tennis Center.
 
The women (22-4) will play Friday at 5 p.m. against the eighth-ranked Bears (23-4). The men (19-4) will take the court at 2 p.m. Saturday against the second-ranked Bears (29-4).
 
"I cannot begin to describe how proud we are of these special, high character young men and women. In a year filled with distractions, this team became a unified family and chose the character, disciplined road. They bonded together and worked tirelessly every day," said head coach Steve Moore. "We are so proud of these high character Islanders, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and the city of Corpus Christi to once again advance to the most prestigious event in college sports – the NCAA Championships!"
 
The men will be making their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, and it will be the fourth for the women.
 
Both A&M-Corpus Christi squads earned automatic bids after winning the Southland Conference Championships. The women swept all three of their matches, while the men only dropped one court.
 
The Baylor men will make their 23rd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and are 30-1 when hosting. They won the 2021 Big 12 Tournament. The Baylor women will make its 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance after finishing as the runner-up in both the Big 12 regular season and conference tournament.
 
A&M-Corpus Christi will look to advance to the second round for the first time in program history.
