Islander Notes
- With A&M-Corpus Christi's 3-1 series victory over Stephen F. Austin, the Islanders have won four of their past five series and gone 15-5 during that span.
- Junior hurler John Gaddis picked up his fifth-consecutive mound victory after tossing 6.0 scoreless innings in game two against SFA. Gaddis has pitched 21.0 frames of scoreless ball (allowing a run on April 18) and has moved into a tie for ninth in the complete-game, single-season column with four and is tied with Jimmy Hamon (2003) for the top spot in shutouts with two. On the all-time list, Gaddis' two shutouts ranks first alongside Trey Hearne (2004-05) and Jimmy Hamon (2003). The four-complete games also ties him ninth nationally in the category.
- Hayden Thomas matched a career-high with 12 strikeouts in 7.0 innings against SFA, marking the third time this season he's surpassed the double-figure threshold. He's totaled 77 on the season and is 11 punchouts away from tying the ninth spot on the Islander single-season records.
- Luke Marbach boasts a 25-game reached base streak, surpassing Steven Rivera-Chijin's 20-game streak earlier this spring.
- The Islanders rank third in the league in triples (13), as Ryan and Josh Caraway combine for seven of those.
- Four Islanders – Marbach, Brendan Ryan, Itchy Burts and Mike Williams – are batting above a .300 clip, with Marbach leading with a .331 batting average and six home runs. All of them rank among the conference best, as Marbach's average is 10th in the league and .579 slugging is good for 12th, Burt's 54 hits tied for 10th, Williams in 14th for RBIs and Ryan ties for second with four triples.
- Hayden Thomas sits among the Southland leaderboards, ranking first in strike outs looking (30) and fifth in overall strikeouts (77). His 3.33 ERA is eighth-best in the league.
- A&M-Corpus Christi head coach Scott Malone is in his 14th season at the helm of the Islanders and boasts a career record of 342-387-2 and 183-210-2 in Southland play.
