CORPUS CHRISTI – The first National Letter of Intent of the
Steve Lutz era came in Friday as the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program added Jasman Sangha to the squad.
Sangha is a 6-8 forward/center from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He'll join the team after spending the last year at Garden City CC where he averaged 13.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Sangha shot .525 from the floor and .455 from beyond-the-arc.
"Jasman is a tremendous young man with an infectious personality. He is a very good scorer on the block and can also stretch the floor with his three-point shooting ability," Lutz said. "We are excited to add him to the Islander family."
Sangha began his collegiate career at Pensacola State where he played in 20 games in the shortened 2019-20 season. Since it was a COVID-19 year, Sangha still has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Prior to Pensacola, Sangha was a four-year letterwinner at Louise Arbour Secondary School. He was named both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and was named an All-Star. Sangha was a two-time All-League selection in 2017 & 2018.
Sangha will be enrolling in the business program at A&M-Corpus Christi.
