PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – One out away from a win, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi surrendered a game-tying hit, followed by a walk-off homer to drop a 5-3 decision to Prairie View A&M on Tuesday at the Lady Panthers Softball Stadium.

The Islanders (15-19, 6-6 SLC) were up 3-2 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh when the Panthers (8-9, 7-2 SWAC) tied the game with an RBI single to left. In the very next at-bat, PVAMU's Maddison Parker hit a two-run walk-off to right field to end the game.

Sophomore
Beatriz Lara threw 6.0 innings and settled for a no decision. She struck out seven batters and walked just one.

At the plate, junior
Tiler Noyola notched a pair of hits to go along with two stolen bases, a run and an RBI. It was her fifth multi-hit game of the year.

With a single in the third inning, sophomore
Ashleigh Sgambelluri has tallied a hit in 14 of the last 15 games.

The Islanders got on the board in their first at-bat. It came on an RBI single by
Haley Morse to score sophomore
Pal Egan. The team has now outscored the opposition 23-19 in the first inning this season.

A&M-Corpus Christi increased the lead to 2-0 in third. With runners on first and third, a double steal play was on as Noyola raced home to swipe the plate after a throw was drawn out to second.

Noyola was in on the action again in the fifth inning. After a double by freshman
Bailey Payne, Noyola singled to center to plate the run.

A&M-Corpus Christi dropped to 27-11 all-time against PVAMU, including an 11-4 mark on the road. Tuesday's game concluded a six-game road trip for the Islanders.

Up next, A&M-Corpus Christi returns home to host a first-place Stephen F. Austin squad in a three-game series. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday.
