Top-Seeded Men's Tennis to Face Incarnate Word in Semifinals of SLC Tournament

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Southland Conference released the 2021 men's tennis bracket Monday evening, and top-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will take-on fourth-seeded Incarnate Word at 10 a.m. Saturday, hosted by Lamar University.

The Islanders (17-4, 5-0 SLC) won the regular season title after going unbeaten in league play. They defeated UIW (5-8, 2-3 SLC) by a 6-1 margin this past Wednesday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in the regular season meeting.

A&M-Corpus Christi is 7-1 all-time against the Cardinals, but this will be the first-ever meeting on a neutral court.

The winner of the Islanders and the Cardinals will face the winner of No. 2 Lamar and No. 3 New Orleans in the championship on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Islanders, who won the SLC Tournament in 2019, will look to defend their title. Men's tennis will be going for its ninth SLC tournament championship and ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
