THIBODAUX, La. – A defensive battle ended in a 0-0 draw after two overtime periods between the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program and Nicholls on Thursday at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.

It was the third 0-0 tie of the year for A&M-Corpus Christi (4-7-3, 3-4-2 SLC) and the second in conference.
The Islanders held a 12-10 advantage in shots over Nicholls (0-13-1, 0-8-1 SLC). They also carried a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

"We let ourselves down today. If we want to make the tournament we need to pick up the desire and work rate and take care of our chances," said head coach
Craig Shaw.

Abby Deakin fired a game-high four shots, while fellow senior
Larissa Fagundes registered three.

Kyleigh Hall recorded her fourth shutout of the year. She saved three shots to keep the game scoreless.

A&M-Corpus Christi is now 2-2-2 on the road this year.

The Islanders are 2-0-1 in their last three meetings against Nicholls.

A&M-Corpus Christi will remain on the road Saturday for a 10 a.m. match at Southeastern Louisiana. The Islanders beat SLU in the last meeting 2-0 in 2019.
