CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Each team had a few opportunities, but the game ended without a score 0-0 after 110 minutes between the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program and Northwestern State on Friday at Dugan Stadium.

A&M-Corpus Christi (2-3-2, 1-1-1 SLC) was awarded a free kick with the clocked stopped after a yellow card was issued to NSU (6-0-1, 4-0-1 SLC) with one second left in double overtime, but from about 35 yards out a low, line drive shot by senior
Celia Hilsabeck was saved as time expired.

"Really proud of the soccer we played tonight. We started a little slow, but by overtime we were dominating one of the best teams in the conference," said head coach
Craig Shaw.

It was the second 0-0 tie of the season for the Islanders after the same result happened at UTRGV on Feb. 10. A&M-Corpus Christi posted its fourth shutout of the season and second in a row after blanking Lamar 3-0 in its last outing.

Seven different Islanders fired a shot in the game including a pair from junior
Reaghan Lang. A&M-Corpus Christi had more shots on goal than NSU 5-2. The Islanders also held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks, including three in the first overtime period.

Senior
Kyleigh Hall submitted her third shutout in four starts this year. She made a pair of big saves in net to keep the game scoreless.

The Islanders are now 3-1-1 in their last five meetings against the Lady Demons.

Friday's game kicked-off a seven-game home stand for A&M-Corpus Christi, the longest in program history. The Islanders will be back at Dugan Stadium on Sunday when they host Central Arkansas at 1 p.m.
