CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball hosts Sam Houston in its home court finale Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. inside the Dugan Wellness Complex.

Makinna Serrata continued to be an offensive force for the Islanders, securing her second 16-point explosion in as many games to lead the way in a lopsided 50-43 league victory over Houston Baptist. The effort marked her sixth double-figure total in the last seven outings.

A&M-Corpus Christi has extended its victory parade to three-straight games, serving as the squad's longest stretch since the 2019-20 season. The Islanders held HBU to a conference season-low 43 points in the defensive battle. Â
The Islanders maintain top marks with a 23
rd overall national ranking in steals per game (10.5) and place third amongst conference members in blocked shots (65) and blocked shots per game (3.8).
Alecia Westbrook continues to be a powerhouse for the blue and green, tallied her eighth double-double of the season and 12th double-figure scoring game over Lamar. She was coming off a 15-point, 12-rebound performance in the win over New Orleans. Westbrook entered the game ranked second in the conference in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and will improve on her average.
This will be the two clubs' first meeting of the season.

- The Islanders stunner over Lamar was the program's first overtime win since Nov. 8, 2013 when it beat Western Illinois 66-60 in the Emerald Beach Islanders Classic.
