HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Playing its second of a three-game road trip to conclude the regular season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program will ride to Sam Houston for a 6:30 p.m. tip Wednesday at Johnson Coliseum on ESPN+.

A&M-Corpus Christi (4-18, 1-12 SLC) will look to bounce back from a 66-47 defeat at Lamar on Monday where freshman
Lado Laku came off the bench to score a career-high nine points. He was three-for-three from the field.

The Islanders will look to even the season series against Sam Houston after dropping a tight 75-70 decision at home on Jan. 27. The game was tied 64-64 with 4:08 left when SHSU hit a pair of free throws and a three-pointer to go up five with 2:10 remaining. A&M-Corpus Christi, which overcame a 12-point deficit, battled until the end but just couldn't get back in front in the closing minutes. Junior
Simeon Fryer came off the bench to net 22 points.

The Islanders have used a balanced scoring attack as seven different student-athletes average at least 7.7 points per game.

Sophomore
Jalen White leads the team with 11.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on the season. He's recorded at least 20 points and seven rebounds in three of the last four games. White has a pair of double-doubles on the year.

Senior
Nolan Bertain ranks second in the Southland Conference in three-point percentage (.417). He's made at least three long-range shots in eight games this year.

Junior
De'Lazarus Keys is the team's leading rebounder with 6.8 per game. Keys, who missed the entire non-conference slate due to injury, is second on the team in scoring with 9.1 points per outing.

SHSU (18-7, 12-2 SLC) is coming off an 83-70 road win at Houston Baptist. The Bearkats have won five of their last six games including a 97-57 victory over Central Arkansas in their last home game.

The Bearkats are 11-0 at home this year.

Zach Nutall is one of the league's top scorers with 19.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Demarkus Lampley is also a threat with 14.8 points per outing. Lampley scored 21 points and Nutall 18 points in the first meeting between the two teams this season.
