SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis program fell 4-1 to UTSA on Thursday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The highlight of the match for A&M-Corpus Christi (12-4) was a straight set victory at No. 4 singles from freshman
Pascal Lorieul. He took down Kai Breitbach 6-4, 6-1.
Lorieul improved to 9-0 on the season in singles.
Another close match was on-going at No. 6 singles where freshman
Borja Delgado was hanging tough. He trailed Garrett Skelly 6-2, 6-5 when the match clinched. Fellow freshman
Ryuya Ata also had his match unfinished at the No. 1 position.
A&M-Corpus Christi is now 14-7 all-time against UTSA including a 5-3 mark on the road.
Thursday's was the men's final tune-up match before conference begins. The Islanders will open league play with a road match at Abilene Christian on Friday, March 26.
