SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program fell 2-0 in its first road game of the season to UTSA on Sunday at the Park West Athletics Complex.

Kennedy Stelling made her second consecutive start in net and blocked three saves.

UTSA (1-0) got on the board in the 13th minute on an own goal and carried a 1-0 lead into the break. The Roadrunners added an insurance tally in the 66th minute on a score by Ariana Gomez.

The Islanders are now 2-3 all-time against the Roadrunners and 1-2 on the road. The two teams will rematch in Corpus Christi on Sunday, March 14 at 1 p.m.

Up next, A&M-Corpus Christi will travel to UTRGV for a rematch at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the South Texas Showdown, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union. The Vaqueros snuck past the Islanders 2-1 in overtime in the first meeting this year.
