Moore on the Key to his Success
"High character young men and women – far more than any one person it's about a set of values. The values of family, character, accountability, hard-work, grit and team above self. We believe the way you truly love a kid is to teach them what it takes to succeed in the real world - personally and professionally. That's why we believe so deeply in real world training and FCA (family, character and accountability) coaching and not this CIA (coddle, indulge, appease) style some coaches cut corners with these days. That ultimately short changes the player for life. The Islander culture is so special. The relationships and bonds between coaches and players over the years have been priceless. These players have become like family to me. They see how much you pour your heart and soul into them and they begin to care for you just as much. You fight for them and they fight for you. Not just four years but for life. The priceless values money can never buy of brotherhood/sisterhood, character, respect and discipline are values that, deep down, many players still believe in. Many players and parents still want those things. I've been very blessed to have a coaching staff that shores those values and are like family to me and they have been a big part of this also, for a long time. And been incredibly blessed with the most amazing administration and community that supports the values and character we try to coach with. Without that tremendous support, none of this would be possible," Moore said.
