HOUSTON –
Coming off a lopsided win, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball program will look to duplicate its performance Saturday when it heads to Rice for a 2 p.m. game at Tudor Fieldhouse.

The Islanders (4-3) downed St. Edward's 92-40 on Sunday at the Dugan Wellness Center. They shot 60 percent from the floor for the first time since March 12, 2008 against Texas State. The 52-point win was the program's largest margin of victory since Dec. 30, 2014 when it beat Huston-Tillotson 99-33.

Junior Alecia Westbrook averages a double-double of 12.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. She leads the league in rebounding, ranks third in steals (2.3 spg) and top-five in field goal percentage (.500). Westbrook was named to the Denver All-Tournament team for her performances against Denver and Tulane and went on to win SLC Player of the Week. Westbrook was named to the SLC Preseason All-Conference Second-Team and led the league in rebounding last season with 8.8 per game.

Senior Makinna Serrata is the team's leading scorer with 13.4 points per outing. She poured in a career-high 28 points to lead the team to an 81-61 victory over Pacific. It was her second 20-plus scoring game of the season along with a game vs. UTRGV.

Freshman Annukka Willstedt puts in 11.9 points per game and notched 25 poits against Tulane on 7-of-8 3FGs. Willstedt leads the league in field goal percentage (.583) and is second in 3FG% (.522).

Sophomore Violeta Verano ranks first in the conference in assist (4.9 apg) and is second in assist:turnover ratio (1.2). Verano has dished out at least three assists in every game this year and distributed six in her last outing against St. Edward's.

Rice enters the contest with a 3-3 record, most recently falling at UT Arlington 73-65. The Owls and the Islanders have played a pair of similar opponents as Rice beat St. Edward's 84-41 and Pacific 81-73.

Ashlee Austin provides the Owls with a lot of offense, averaging 17.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing and has scored at least 17 points in five of six games. Malia Fisher nearly averages a double-double with 8.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and tallied 14 points and 17 boards vs. Pacific.
