CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – As a result of their accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom, seniors
Reaghan Lang and
Samantha Palomino and junior
Emma Gibbs were honored on the Southland All-Academic Second-Team.

Both Lang and Gibbs carry a cumulative 4.0 GPA, while Palomino sits at 3.88.

"As a coach, these awards excite me the most for those honored. These awards show that these three are not only great players, they are great students and our program knows them also as even better young ladies that will influence our world," said head coach
Craig Shaw.

Lang, a Kinesiology major, was an All-Conference Third-Team selection. She led the team in assists with three and was second on the team in goals with four. Her four goals tied for seventh in the conference. Lang totaled 19 shots with 13 shots on goal. She played all 19 contests and took a leadership role upon herself as the only fourth-year student-athlete on the squad.

Palomino, who is also studying towards a degree in Kinesiology, was an All-Conference Second-Team honoree. The SAAC President, Palomino ranked top-three in the conference in goals scored with six and scored a pair of game-winning goals. She led the team with 18 shots on goal and a .818 shot on goal percentage and started in all 19 games.

Gibbs, a Nursing major, logged 1,455 minutes on the field and was one of four student-athletes to start in every game along with Palomino. She dished out assists against Texas Southern and UTRGV from the midfield position. On the season, she fired 16 shots with seven on goal.
