CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Wrapping up the regular season on Senior Night, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi dropped a 1-0 decision to UIW on Friday at Dugan Stadium.

Prior to the game, A&M-Corpus Christi (7-10-1, 5-6-1 SLC) honored
Reaghan Lang,
Samantha Palomino and
Hanleigh Allen in a special Senior Day ceremony.

The Islanders will enter the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed. They'll take on fifth-seeded Southeastern at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dugan Stadium. The fourth-place finish was the highest in program history for A&M-Corpus Christi.

UIW (6-10-2, 6-5-1 SLC) will be the No. 3 seed. The Cardinals scored the only tally of the night in the 51st minute on a shot from the middle of the box into the lower right corner by Inara Lopes De Andrade.

It was a relatively even game as UIW held a very slight 10-8 edge in shots and 5-4 in shots on goal.

"Tonight could have easily gone our way. I'm very pleased with the performance, energy and desire. There's a lot of positives to take into the tournament," said head coach
Craig Shaw.

The Islanders will now turn their attention to Wednesday's match against the Lady Lions. A&M-Corpus Christi went 1-0-1 against SLU in head-to-head meetings this year. The Islanders are 5-3-1 at home this season.
