CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – On a cold, windy Thursday morning, Southeastern scored the lone tally 1-0 against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer program in a rescheduled game at Dugan Stadium in the SLC Championship.

The game was originally supposed to be played Wednesday evening but was postponed to Thursday after an electrical issue affected the lighting.

The fourth-seeded Islanders (7-11-1), who had the youngest roster in the tournament, posted an 11-8 edge in shots over the fifth-seeded Lady Lions (7-8-3).

The only score came in the 64th minute when SLU's Ellie Williams pushed a shot into the lower left corner after a cross from the left.

"I'm proud of this team and the adversity they've gone through," said head coach
Craig Shaw. "SLU got one chance and took advantage of it. This experience will drive us through workouts this spring."

A&M-Corpus Christi is hosting the conference tournament for the third time in program history after doing so in back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017. The Islanders finished the year 5-4-1 at home.
