NEW ORLEANS – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball program will play its second game in 29 days Wednesday when it travels to New Orleans for a 7 p.m. tip at Lakefront Arena.

Four of A&M-Corpus Christi's (3-7, 0-1 SLC) initial five conference games were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols, in addition to the final two non-conference games. The most recent postponement was Saturday's game at Lamar, which has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m.

Wednesday will be the second of a three-game road trip for the Islanders to open conference play. They'll follow it up with a five-game home stand beginning Jan. 27.

Senior Perry Francois leads the conference and ranks 15th in the nation in field goal percentage (.631). He's the team in both scoring (11.5 ppg) and blocks (1.4 bpg).

Senior Nolan Bertain has drilled at least three three-pointers in five consecutive outings. He's coming off a career-high 20 points against Southeastern Louisiana where he was 5-of-11 from long-range. Bertain ranks second in the SLC in three-point percentage with a .438 mark.

Sophomore Jalen White averages in double-figures with 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He has a pair of double-doubles on the year.

UNO (3-9, 2-2 SLC) has split its first four SLC games, but is coming off back-to-back wins over Incarnate Word 86-64 and McNeese 99-84. The Privateers were picked to finish eighth in the Preseason SLC Poll, one spot ahead of the Islanders.

Damion Rosser leads the team in both scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg). Troy Green is also a threat with 15.6 points per outing.
