CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi hits the road looking to halt a four-game slide with a Saturday, Jan. 16 matchup at Lamar set for 2 p.m. inside the Montagne Center.
Sophomore standout
Alecia Westbrook headlined the Islanders' squad in their last outing against Abilene Christian, amassing a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds on her way to collecting her fifth double-double of the season. The total ranks 21
st nationally and leads the Southland, while her marks in rebounds (101), rebounds per game (9.2), and made free throws (49) also top league standings.
As a team, A&M-Corpus Christi sits second amongst the conference in blocked shots (43) and steals (125). The Islanders' 125 steals garner a top-10 national ranking and is paced by freshman
Paige Allen's 30 swipes.
Makinna Serrata posted her own breakout performance against ACU with a career-high 15 points. The duo of Serrata and Westbrook combined for 12 of the Islanders' 16 first-quarter points.
Westbrook leads A&M-Corpus Christi on both sides of the ball, averaging 13.2 ppg and 9.2 rpg.
The Islanders' four-game skid is the longest streak since the 2016-17 season.

- The Islanders rank ninth in the nation in total steals (125) and 20th in steals per game (11.4). Individually, freshman Paige Allen ranks 12th nationally in steals (30), alongside SFA's Stephanie Visscher, and 24th in steals per game (3.0).

Series History
- Lamar holds the 17-11 overall series edge, but the Islanders have trimmed the margin with a pair of victories to complete the series sweep over the Cardinals during the 2019-20 season.
- The Islanders 64-56 victory over Lamar on Feb. 22, 2020 marked the program's 13th Southland win of the 2019-20 campaign, setting a program record since the Islanders joined the league in 2006. Chadwick's squad finished with 17 league wins and claimed the 2020 Southland Champions title.
