- In conference play, the trio of
Alexes Bryant,
Dalesia Booth and
Emma Young (Coleman-O'Bryan) have all averaged double figures for the Blue and Green, scoring 13.7, 11.3 and 10.9 points/game.
- The Islanders are coming off a thrilling 49-48 comeback win over Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night inside the Dugan Wellness Center. Trailing by 10 points to start the fourth, the Islanders outscored Southeastern 15-4 in the final frame to come away with the narrow one point victory, holding the Lions scoreless for the remaining 7:47 of the contest.
- With their 12th win in conference play, the Islanders have tied the program record for most regular season victories against Southland competition since joining the league in 2006-07. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi reached 12 Southland wins during the 2009-10 and the 2014-15 seasons.
- In the last meeting between the two schools, A&M-Corpus Christi allowed a season low 39 points. It marked the lowest point total allowed since the Jan. 21, 2017 at Sam Houston State and the 13 second half points allowed broke the program record that was set on Jan. 11, 2006 against Huston-Tillotson (15 points).
CARDINAL NOTABLES
- The Cardinals are coming off a 75-68 loss to Sam Houston State inside the Montagne Center Wednesday night.
- Lamar had four players finish in double-digit scoring, marking the the first time since Nov. 11, 2019 that the Cards achieved the feat. Junior
Jadyn Pimentel tallied 10 points in the loss but tacked on seven steals and five assists to her performance.
- The Cardinals score on average 59.3 points/game while allowing 63.3 on the defensive side.
- Angel Hastings and Amber Vidal lead the offense for LU with 12.9 and 12.4 points/game. Hastings is also the team's top sharpshooter beyond the arc, knocking down 36-percent of her three points attempts.
