CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Coming off back-to-back victories, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball program will host Texas State at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Dugan Wellness Center.

The Islanders (2-5) are 199-140 all-time at home and are going for win No. 200.

A&M-Corpus Christi defeated St. Edward's 78-70 and Concordia (Texas) 84-38 in its last two outings. The Islanders used contributions from their entire roster in the two games and combined to score 90 points off the bench.

Against the Hilltoppers, sophomore
Alecia Westbrook turned in a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, and also had five steals and four assists. She followed it up with 10 points and five rebounds against the Tornados and was named an Honorable Mention for SLC Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Freshman
Paige Allen also had a big outing against Concordia where she submitted a career-high 21 points to go along with five steals.

Westbrook and Allen are A&M-Corpus Christi's top-two scorers on the season with 14.9 and 10.7 points per game, respectively. Westbrook leads the conference in rebounding with 8.7 per outing, while Allen ranks first in steals with 3.6 per game.

Sophomore
Olivia Dowden is coming off her best two games of the year where she scored 13 points in each. It was one point away from her career-high. Dowden shot 6-of-13 (.462) from three-point range over those two contests.

The Bobcats (1-2) have a 74-70 overtime win over SMU on their resume. They are coming off a low-scoring 52-40 defeat at Oklahoma on Sunday.

Da'Nasia Hood leads the squad with 19.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. She's one of three double-figure scorers along with Avionne Alexander and Kennedy Taylor who average 11.3 and 11.0 points per outing, respectively.

- The Islanders rank third in the SLC in blocks as a team with 3.4 per game.

- The second quarter has been the biggest for A&M-Corpus Christi this year where it has outscored the opposition 124-107.

- Westbrook has scored in double-digits in all seven games this year. She has three double-doubles. In addition to leading the conference in rebounding, she ranks second in field goal percentage with a .603 clip. - Last season, Westbrook shot a team-high .520 from the field (top-five all-time in single-season history) and set the program record for most blocks for a freshman with 30.

Giana Wright is the lone senior on the squad. At UTRGV last week, she posted her best career game with 12 points. She's recorded 165 career points and 136 rebounds.

- The Islanders are the defending Southland Conference Regular season champions after finishing the year 23-7 overall and 17-3 SLC. The conference tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. The 17-3 SLC record was the best-ever in program history.
